Biography

Loren Collins is an independent, "Bull Moose" candidate running for Georgia's Fourth Congressional seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

A seventh-generation Georgian, Loren was born in 1978 in Atlanta, and raised in the shadow of Stone Mountain. He was educated in the DeKalb County public school system, before eventually graduating from Greater Atlanta Christian School in Norcross. In his youth he was active in Stone Mountain's Boy Scout Troop 202, and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1996.

After high school Loren attended the University of Georgia, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in both Political Science and Religion in 2001. He was a H.O.P.E. scholar and graduated Magna Cum Laude, With Honors. In 2004, he graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law. During his tenure at the University, Loren was an active member of the UGA community, participating in the student union and his church group, and a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the Federalist Society, and the African-American Choral Ensemble.

In law school, Loren worked with the Clarke County and Madison County District Attorneys' Office. He presently is working as an attorney in Atlanta.

Loren lives in DeKalb County. In 2006, he made his first run for Georgia's Fourth District seat as a write-in, and finished third in the general election.
